An Israeli airstrike on Gaza City today killed 11 members of a single family in the Al-Tuffah neighbourhood. The strike targeted the Bustan family’s house, killing women and children among the victims. Rescuers are still searching for the missing. This attack is part of a larger Israeli military campaign in Gaza that has killed over 41,000 people since the war escalated in October following a Hamas attack on Israel.
Airstrikes have hit various areas across Gaza, including civilian sites, resulting in additional deaths. Other strikes in different parts of Gaza have left many displaced and in precarious conditions, adding to the rising toll of women and children casualties.
The violence is part of a broader conflict, with mounting fears of escalating casualties on both sides. This incident reflects the tragic impact on families caught in the crossfire.

Pope Francis has condemned the killing of civilians, including children, in Gaza after the Israeli military bombed several schools on the “presumption” of striking Hamas fighters. “When you see the bodies of killed children, when you see that, under the presumption that some guerrillas are there, a school is bombed, this is ugly,” the 87-year-old pontiff said. “It is ugly.” The head of the Roman Catholic Church also expressed doubt that neither Israel nor Hamas were seeking to end the conflict.]“I am sorry to have to say this, but I do not think that they are taking steps to make peace,” he said.
